Plumas Golden Retrievers
Plumas Golden Retrievers is located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, in Eastern Plumas County. We are approximately 40 miles north of Truckee, and 50 miles northwest of Reno. Our home is in Maybe, Ca., on 3+ acres, surrounded by hundreds of acres of Forest Service property. The middle fork of the Feather River runs nearby. During normal winters, we have 5 feet of snow on the ground. Wild life abounds, with regular visits from deer, bears, an occasional mountain lion and lots of geese. Although we have not seen one near our property, we now have wolves, too. Essentially, we live in golden retriever heaven.
We have been breeding golden retrievers for over 23 years. Our program is small, doing only one litter a year. We do not sell our puppies through a dog broker, we do not pay any advertiser to promote our puppies.
We are committed to producing only the healthiest puppies. All of our breeding dogs are OFA certified and DNA tested. We consider ourselves to be stewards of the breed, we are actively working to eliminate all serious medical conditions that have plagued breed. Plumas Golden Retrievers is more of a passion than a business for us.
